ETYMOLOGY
HOW TO WEAR IT/ FIT & SIZE
The origins of the short sleeve top otherwise known as t-shirt goes back to the late 19th century. This innovation came about when workmen started to cut their jumpsuits in half to keep cool throughout the warmer months of year. The first manufactured t-shirt was invented between the Spanish-American War in 1898, and 1913 when the U.S. Navy started to issue them as standard undershirts. The word "t-shirt" was introduced into the English Dictionary in 1920. F. Scott Fitzgerald was the first person to publish the word in his novel This Side of Paradise.
